Dorm room snacks are the best snacks! But snacking in college can make it super easy to gain the freshman 15. Here are my personal favorite healthy dorm room snacks!
This one is super basic I know, but as far as dorm room snacks go- it’s one of my favorites! I like to buy fruit at Aldi because it’s pretty cheap and always tasty. On one of my less busy days, I cut up a bunch of mango and kiwi to keep ready to eat in my fridge as well as grapes and blueberries.
I am a sucker for honey roasted peanuts! Nuts are full of healthy fats and proteins that can energize you and keep you full throughout the day. These are super easy to eat a lot of calories worth of though. Watch portion sizes and keep yourself at a healthy caloric intake to maintain your weight and nuts are great to keep around. Be mindful of allergies of roommates, suitemmates, and hall mates!
I love popcorn! It’s perfect to absentmindedly snack on without having to consider calories. I have a small air-popper that I love because I try to avoid all of the harsh chemicals that are in the microwave bagged popcorn.
Next up, jell-o. My grocery store has these bags of cubed jell-o that I am obsessed with! They are super low calorie, delicious, refreshing, and fun to eat. I like to pop a couple cubes in my mouth after a long walk home from class. Each bag will last me about a week and a half. For only $2 a bag, I think it’s a bargain!
Finally, cheese cubes! Cheese cubes are a delicious and easy snack for between classes or post-gym snacks! It’s easy to buy pre-packaged cheese cubes at the store (some even come in single serve pouches!) or you can cut blocks of cheese into cubes to save a little money. Either way, cheese cubes are a yummy and easy snack for college students,
